Danish cufflinks and tie bars, especially in sterling silver, are a passion of mine. I am currently collecting information about Danish cufflinks and their designers and makers. I regard them as great and important works of art and design.

If you have cufflinks or a tie bar (tie clip) that has a marking indicating that they were made in Denmark or Danmark, then I would like to know more about them so that they can be catalogued. While the informatiion I am collecting is predominantly about Danish designers and silversmiths, I am also doing research on a few other non-Danish Scandinavian designers.

If possible, I would appreciate photos of them. If you do not have digital images, I would be glad to scan any existing photos and return the originals. Please email any information to me at Dan@DanTaylor.com or please send photos to the address below by POST only. They will be returned with my thanks and your original postage costs. I will keep private the details about cufflink collections and cufflink collectors. Items will be attributed to "a private collection" unless I receive specific requests to have the names of the collections or institutions included.

Beware of forgeries of Georg Jensen and Hans Hansen cufflinks now circulating and being sold as genuine. Purchase your cufflinks from reputable sources!

Depending on the situation, I would be interested in discussing the possibility of purchasing them as well if you are open to that possibility.

I am especially interested in the sterling silver cufflinks and tie bars that were made by Hans Hansen, Karl Gustav Hansen, HaH, Bent Knudsen, bentk, BENT K, Georg Jensen, GI, GJ, Ib Bluitgen, Just Andersen, JUST A, N.E. From, Dragsted, Torun, Nanna Ditzel, AJ, Arne Johansen, Bent Gabrielsen, Bent G, Karen Strand, Strand, Anton Michelson, David Anderson, Asrtid Fog, Henning Koppel, J Tostrup, Regine Juhls, Aage Weimar, Tone Vigeland, Sigurd Persson, Tapio Wirkkala, Pentti Sarpaneva, E. Granit, Bjorn Weckstrom, Lapponia, Pekka Piekainen, Kupittaan Kulta.

There are many important designers and sellers that I hope that you will  forgive me if the name of your silversmith or designer is not mentioned above but please know that I am interested in information about all Danish cufflinks and tie bars.

I will be placing photos of some cufflinks and tie bars on line soon for those readers that are also interested in this topic. Needless to say that these objects are in different collections and I did not take all of the photos. I will be putting up photos of pieces by Georg Jensen, Ib Bluitgen, Just Andesen, Dragsted and others as time permits.

I have decided to display some wonderful work from my favourite smithies, those of Anni and Bent Knudsen and Hans Hansen. Really fabulous designs and craftsmanship. We will be donating all of our photos to www.NorthernSilver.com and they will be putting them up on their website.

Please contact me if you wish to sell your Scandinavian cufflinks and tie bars or other Scandinavian jewelry.
